| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Number of automobiles and motorcycles are growing rapidly in Southeast Asia. Transport policy and planning which focus on public transport are important to solve problems of motorlization. In this study, we focused on the minibus services which widely exsist in developing countries without sufficient investigation before. We investegated how degree public transport development affect Southeast Asian nations if we improve minibus based public transport system, with attention to Indonesian road public transport policy.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
東南アジアのバス・ミニバスなどの道路公共交通やその政策については十分な調査が行われてこなかったが、本研究では、インドネシア、マレーシアにおけるその現況や政策の詳細、またタイ・ベトナムなどを含めた各国、および各国内の地域的差異を明らかにすることができた。
開発途上国では交通をめぐる情報や法令と実態の乖離が大きく、先進国で行った方法論を持ち込むことが困難であるが、その点を考慮しつつ、開発途上国における公共交通政策をどのように行うべきか、実現可能な方法を提示することができた点も本研究の意義と考えられる。
