Outline of Final Research Achievements

To build a community’s resilience after a natural disaster, we researched gender differences in disaster risks and the way of community building using quantity and quality method. Firstly, we investigated gender differences in the factors associated with long-term mental health after the Great East Japan Earthquake by a cross-sectional household survey of victims who remained living in their homes. Secondly, we clarified the process of community building based on qualitative research on community social coordinators (CSCs) who worked in a disaster-affected area.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
