| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Focusing on the journalists of Kyodo News, I focused on the thought and activity of postwar newspaper reporters. Then I clarified the pressure of speech from inside and outside toward journalism, and one part of the history of journalism in postwar Japan.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
これまで戦後日本、とりわけ講和条約以降のジャーナリズム史研究がほとんどない中で、研究基盤を新たに開拓した。メディア史が隆盛する一方、報道・言論を軸とするジャーナリズム史の研究は停滞する傾向があったが、そうした状況をも問い直す学術的意義がある。中心的な研究成果である『戦後日本ジャーナリズムの思想』は、『朝日新聞』2019年5月22日付夕刊と『読売新聞』同年5月30日付夕刊（大阪本社版）でもインタビュー記事として紹介された。
