Research Abstract

生命の遺伝情報を司るDNAは、高い自己組織化能力と設計の自由性を持つ。さらに電気伝導性があればナノエレクトロニクスの素材として有望であることから、その電気伝導性が盛んに研究された。しかし磁気的光学的性質から、基本的に絶縁体であることを明確にした。本研究では次に、DNAに電気伝導性を持たせる可能性の追求と、その基礎物性を明らかにした。方法として、2価金属イオンとDNAの化合物を合成したり、ヨウ素をドープして電荷の注入を試みた。また、これらの構造を調べるために、トンネル顕微鏡によるDNAの可視化に成功した。
