Research Abstract

総括班は研究期間を通じて研究者間の連絡調整と研究支援、特定研究推進の方向性の検討と助言、他のプロジェクト研究との情報交換、本特定領域研究の広報活動等を行なってきたが、研究期間全体としての総括と成果のとりまとめを行う。また、領域メンバー間で共有可能なデータや材料も集まりつつある。これまでの全研究期間におけるデータの集約化を図ることにより、今後のこの研究分野の発展に資するものとして努めてきた。
平成21年度までで当初め研究期間を終了し、本年度においては、これまでの研究成果を取りまとめ、書籍等によって公表するとともに、関連研究者などに広く研究成果を公表することを目的としている。
平成23年3月11日、東日本大震災に付随して引き起こされた東電福島第一原子力発電所の重大な事故によって、大量の放射性降下物(fallout)が広域にわたって放出され、森林、農地、都市、海域に拡散した。農作物が放射性物質によって汚染され、食物連鎖を通して生物濃縮されつつある。農地土壌の汚染は、その土壌に栽培された農作物の汚染、食品の汚染につながった。土壌からの作物による放射性物質の吸収と可食部への移行、集積は、特定領域研究「植物の養分吸収と循環系」で扱ってきた対象である。そこで、研究班員の最新の成果をレビューした講座(日本土壌肥料学会誌に掲載)の再録と共に、放射性降下物に関する論文の復刻版を企画し、ニースレター追補版として発行した。発行後は特定領域班員だけでなく、日本学術会議シンポジウム等で無償で配布した。
