単一のフォトン(光子)の検出ができる超高感度の光センサー(電子打ち込み型のハイブリッド光センサー(HPD))について、その可能性を探るためさまざまなタイプのセンサーを試作しその性能を検証した。試作されたセンサーは、2次元多チャネルアレイ・シングルフォトン解析装置,大口径微弱光撮像システムそして超高速光センサーの三種類である
