Research Abstract

江戸時代に我国で花卉園芸化されて多数の花の色や形態に関する自然突然変異体が分離され、戦前に世界をリードし、我国の文化遺産でもあるアサガオの古典遺伝学的成果の内で、花の色や模様に的を絞り、分子遺伝学的観点から変異の実態を解明し、ジェネティク及びエピジェネティクな発現制御機構の解明を行なった。また、ゲノム配列が解析されてモデル植物となったイネを用いて、我々が独自に開発した変異創成法である相同組換えによる遺伝子ターゲティング法による変異体作出と自然条件下で転移を制御できるDNA型トランスポゾンの転移制御機構の解析も行なった。
