Research Abstract

動物は微小管形成の制御装置として中心体を持つが、植物は中心体なしで微小管形成を行っている。本研究では、微小管の重合開始に必要なγチューブリン分子とγチューブリンが作る微小管端のキャップ構造に注目して、植物特有の微小管形成システムは何かを調べた。その結果、被子植物ではキャップ構造が不安定なことが示唆できた。また、コケ・シダ・裸子植物で保存され、被子植物で変化するγチューブリン分子表面に存在する十数個のアミノ酸が見つかった。キャップ構造の安定性とγチューブリン構造の変化との関係は今後の課題となった。
