Research Abstract

脳動脈における複雑な血流とそれに対する血管壁のリモデリングを考慮した計算力学シミュレーションにより, 動脈瘤の形成過程を再現した. これにより, 嚢状の動脈瘤の形成には, 受動的な変形を引き起こす血管壁の材料特性の変化だけでなく, 能動的な血管壁の拡張や成長が必要であることを示した. また, これらの応答を引き起こす血管構成細胞の力学特性を調べるために様々な細胞力学実験を行い, 細胞骨格が重要な役割を果たしていることを明らかにした.
