Research Abstract |
The Jesuit Mission Reports and Correspondence, that massive compilation of post-sixteenth century manuscripts that includes among others memos and dispatches related to various local areas, presents us with a border-transcending record of the experiences undergone by the Europeans, and the cultural exchanges that took place between them and the local communities of North Africa, North and South America, and Asia. Concretely, we held seven monthly meetings(3 in 2005, 4 I 2006) in which junior researcher presented their papers and an international colloquium (December 17 & 18, 2005 The number of total participants was about 70) and an international academic conference (Xavier International Academic Forum :Conference, December 10 & 11, 2006. The number of total participants was about 200).
