Research Abstract

高エネルギー加速器研究機構で検討されているSuper KEKB Bファクトリーなどの衝突型加速器の衝突点近傍のビームパイプの形状を、ビームのプロファイルに合わせて極小化し、測定器を衝突点に近づける可能性を検討した。これまでの加速器デザインでは、電子・陽電子ビームの電流が大きい、ビームの大きさが大きい、などの理由で超扁平型ビームパイプの工学設計には大きな問題がある事がわかった。しかしながら、加速器グループが最終年度後半になって検討を開始したナノビームオプションでは、超扁平型ビームパイプ使用の可能性が大きく高まった。
