Research Abstract

地球温暖化の将来予測に有用な古環境復元の精密年代軸として注目されるクリプトテフラ(肉眼では検出不可な希薄な火山灰層)の高感度な検出法として、放射化分析法による地層の高密度な微量元素分析が有効であると実証した。十数本の日本海海底コア中の最大過去十五万年間の堆積物を走査し、5つの新しい指標となるテフラを検出し年代推定を行い、欝陵島(韓国)と白頭山(中朝国境)から飛来する降下火山灰の履歴を構築にした。
