Research Abstract

Xenopus原腸胚から「Wnt及びFGFシグナルを特異的に抑制することで、頭部形成を制御する新規小胞体分子Shisaを同定し、その分子機構を明らかにした。特定蛋白の成熟抑制という新しい小胞体機能が、胚発生に不可欠であることを世界に先駆けて明らかにした。さらにShisa分子ファミリーを同定し、ShisaによるWnt及びFGFシグナル制御が、体節形成に不可欠であることを示した。また、Shisaが腫瘍細胞の浸潤・転移形質を制御することを見いだした。
