| Research Abstract |
ブナの結実に関係する要因として虫害としいなが重要である。しいなの原因として、近交弱 勢の影響が示唆されていたが、有効花粉親数(Nep) 値が低い母樹ほどしいなが多いという本研 究でも指示された。種子生産は年輪生長にはほとんど影響していなかった。しいなや虫害種子 の結実コストは、健全種子の約40%と推定された。しいなや虫害種子が多いと、結実コスト/ 開花コスト比が低くなり、開花数の年次変動が小さくなることによって、開花数の変動が小さ くなり、結果として虫害率が高くなるという悪循環に陥っている可能性が示唆された。
