Research Abstract

セルロースに、天然の光合成システムで用いられている分子の化学構造、および自己組織化できる化学構造を導入した誘導体を合成した。次いで、その誘導体を自己組織化により単分子膜を形成させ、その膜を積層させることで超分子材料を調製した。その超分子材料の光電気化学的性質を調べたところ、光応答性電子輸送機能(言い換えれば、光電変換機能)を示した。今後、バイオマス材料をベースとした太陽電池への応用が大いに期待される。なお、本研究の成果は、世界初の光電変換機セルロース系材料の開発例である。
