Research Abstract |
The followings are results we obtained by this study. (1) We could largely improve the accuracy of on-line character recognition by proposing a novel framework. (2) When we apply an on-line character recognition method for learning support system, we can know the characters users are expected to write in advance. Therefore, we proposed a method using this information to improve the recognition accuracy. (3) Further, we devised a method for modifying an existing dictionary of handwritten character data to incorporate "on the fly" the features of the characters written by various users. This is a new adaptive method for on-line character recognition. (4) Finally, we implemented a learning support software for elementary arithmetic based on our new framework, and we could confirm the effectiveness of our framework.
