Research Abstract |
Structure of the single solid-state image sensor is similar to retina of human being. Red, green and blue color filtered photo detective cells are densely allocated. In recent years, along with increase of its numbers, pixel size tends to decrease. This trend make the image much noisy. On the other hand, in digital cinema, it is required that 20 million pixels spatial resolution and 60 flame/sec time frequency. In the case of the camera using digital cinema, acquired image unavoidably include large amount of noise. To acquiring the true image mingled with noise, it is necessary to integrate the highly-developed image processing mechanism fulfilled in the human vision system. In this research, on the assumption of the image sensor which structure resemble retina, we exploit the highly-developed image processing technique for acquired image. Further more, on the assumption of the highly-developed image processing technique, we study desirable structure of the image sensor.
