| Research Abstract |
Our research project is termed "OPE"(Open source based Platform for Education) Project. Summary of this research results is briefly described as follows.
(1) We. considered some categories for the information education environment which is implemented by using open source software, then we defined some types of platform which are suitable for those categories.
(2) To implement the OPE install CD-ROM, sysinstall, utility which is used for installing and configuring FreeBSD, was customized and some utilities and software were introduced to the official FreeBSD CD-ROM.
(3) Urdtools were designed and written by Ruby language to install and configure open source environment. Those tools have some functions of setting environmental variables, customizing configuration files and so on according to spec file.
(4) We had 17 oral presentations (Japanese) and 4 poster presentations(Japanese) describing our research for term of project. Consequently, we confirmed applicability and effectiveness of our system through some experimental verifications.
