| Research Abstract |
The e-Learning has spread rapidly by the spread of broadband. It studies by each home not to mention training in the enterprise, and is furthermore similar in the higher education. However, it is pointed out that it is on the other hand difficult in the education by the technique of e-Learning of the old model to continue studying due to the decrease in motivation. Then, we constructed the those who attended the Student Observation System to understand person's of attending a study situation. It aims the change of this system according to not one-way traffic but learner's situation of the delivery of the teaching material contents, and person's of attending a study situation is understood. This system pays attention to the ocular motility that doesn't depend on the content of the person's of attending a study. Especially, concentrated level to study is detected by detecting the intermittent, high-speed jump movement of the eyeball that is called Saccade. About the presence of the Saccade phenomenon, it can already been understood that there is a change according to concentrated level to study, and understand learner's situation by detecting this. However, it is necessary to finish the calculation of the Saccade detection to 33msec or less for each so-called video rate (1/30 seconds), that is, one scene to detect this with a usual video camera because the Saccade phenomenon happens by 30msec. Processing by the video rate had not been achieved though the algorithm of this research had already been developed since 2002. Then, the algorithm was improved to shorten this processing time, and Saccade was enabled to be detected almost in real time.
