Research Abstract

By this research, we have developed the manual for practice of the exchange study between college and schools in isolated islands. The outline of the research result is expressed in the following.
1. Research about the know-how of the exchange study
We visited schools in Yoron-Cho in Kagoshima Prefecture, and researched the information use environment of schools, educational subjects, and so on. And we visited Nagasaki university, and investigated the actual condition of Nagasaki Prefecture which holds distant islands as well as Kagoshima Prefecture. We could get materials for the know-how to promote exchange study with schools in isolated islands.
2. The practical research of the exchange study using videoconferencing
Exchange study with Kagoshima University Faculty of Education and Naon junior high school in Yamato-son, a school in Shibushi-City, t.nd MARINE WORLD umino-nakamichi in Fukuoka-City was done by using videoconferencing. We could get the materials which were necessary for the development of the manual from this practice.
3. The development of the manual
The manual how to hold the meaning of the videoconferencing system use, a practical example using videoconferencing, and notice points ii case of using videoconferencing has been developed through the practice until now and the above 1,2. Presentation scftware was used for the development, and it was devised that a motion picture and narration were inserted if necessary.
4. The proposal of the promotion plan for exchange study between schools in isolated islands and the college By the research which lasted for two years, we have got the next four points for promoting exchange study. (1) use of the manual (2) preparation of "collection of use case " (3) practice of lecture about videoconferencing (4) use of network
