Research Abstract

ストア派はパトスすなわち激しい感情における身体的変化と魂における現象との厳密な対応を主張したと考えられる。このことが、ストア派について唯物論的との批判がなされる遠因となったのであろう。しかしながら、ストア派の意図は魂の現象を身体的変化に還元することではなく、あくまで両者の密接な対応を主張するものであり、このことについて初期ストア派のクリュシッポスがゼノンやクレアンテスと異なりパトスをロゴス的部分の働きに解消したと批判するガレノスの解釈は正しくない。
