| Research Abstract |
I investigated the religious documents that Kawabata Yasunari quoted for "UMINO HIMATSURI" (1927). And, I was able to discover several documents newly. However, I do not yet announce many of these results. I will announce these in turn. For example, my discovery of the documents about Ogasawara Yoshihito is important. Because, the process that Ogasawara family believed Omoto religion become clear by my discovery. Moreover, these documents are important to read the diary written by Kawabata when he was young. On the other hand, I was going to clarify the feature of the method of Kawabata literature by my research. And an important finding was able to be obtained about the method of Kawabata literature. For example, it was recognized that Kawabata associated Buddhism with European epistemology and linguistics. The Buddhism of the Orient was received by Kawabata in the frame of European philosophy. As a whole, Kawabata literature can point out the problems of epistemology. Therefore, I can think about the problems of epistemology in Buddhism as the important elements of Kawabata literature. According to my opinion such as the above, I published "Whereabouts of the Problem of Epistemology in SINKANKAKUHA" and "Buddhism in Kawabata literature". In addition, I served as the lecturer of the open symposium "Buddhism" in Tokyo University.
