Research Abstract

イングランド、アイルランドから、カリブ海諸島を経て北アメリカにまで広がる英語圏の文化、とりわけ植民地主義以降の文化を、環大西洋圏文化として位置づけ、そこに見られる共通性として、おもに以下の2点が挙げられることを立証することができた。(1) 1960年代以降の当該文化圏文化においては、形式・媒体を通じて伝えたい意味を表現するのではなく、特定の形式・媒体自体を利用すること自体に重点が置かれている点。(2) 表現形式において俗に身体性と呼ばれるものが、言語においては「比喩的」次元と異なる「形体的」次元と関係がある点。
