Research Abstract |
It is often said, that German historical science was interested in cultural historical studies only after the 1970^<th> years. Social and cultural historical studies, which aim at trends of social classes and lives of common people, come to the fore, at the cost of that description of historical events, that confines itself to lives of great men and epochmaking events. They were ones of tools and technology, houses and settlements, customs and lifestyles, etc. Of course descriptions of textbooks changed accordingly. One considered it to be more important, to understand a trend of history, not only to memorize names, years and events. I held a public lecture on my outcome at 18. 09. 2006. in the schoolmuseum in Leipzig. I was asked to give a contribution of it to the yearbook of Karl Lamprecht Society. I write now it. Less
