Research Abstract

本研究の目的は、幕末維新期において顕著となった郷学の設立動向およびその教育について、これを国家がおこなう民衆の動員の一環と位置づけ、その歴史的意義を考察することにある。研究期間中、新潟県・茨城県・岡山県・山口県などの郷学に関する資料収集およびその資料の解読と分析をおこなった。とりわけ、水戸藩郷学についてはある程度体系的に資料を収集し、これの解読をおこなった。新潟県小千谷市における「小千谷学校」については、資料の収集と解読にもとづき、論文を執筆した。また学会発表をおこなったところである。
