Research Abstract

First of all, the leakage magnetic field of the IH cooker has been measured on some conditions, and the magnetic dipole source was modeled. Then, the maximum induced current densities by the difference of the model have been compared among three kinds of anatomical human models of the Japanese adult male/female and the American adult male. Moreover, the induced current densities averaged by the area of 1 cm^2 is compared with the guideline of international commission on non-ionizing radiation protection (ICNIRP). As a result, it is found that the maximum induced current are considerably different depending on human models, but the induced currents that exceed the guideline of ICNIRP may not flow inside human body in the case with the portable type IH cooker and pan designed for the IH cooker.
Next, the 3-D distribution of the leakage field of an AC drive electric shaver has been measured in precision, and the equivalent simple magnetic source model has been obtained. In addition, the induced current density distribution in the human body head model has been obtained using this simple source model.
Since 3-D field distribution was not able to be measured by study collaborator's convenience, an original 3-D field measurement system has been developed for the induction heating cooker. This system measures the field distribution combining the position sensor (motion capture) and the field sensor.
The future plans of this study are to try a real-time visualization of the magnetic field distribution and the application to the source quest with this new 3-D field measurement system, and to develop the technique for effectively reducing the leakage magnetic field by shielding the household appliance.
