Research Abstract |
THIS STUDY DEALS WITH HYDRAULIC-ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF MAINTENANCE TECHNIQUE FOR PERMIABLE REVETMENT IN URBAN RIVER. THE CONCLISIONS OF THIS STUDY CAN BE DRAWN AS FOLLOWS. 1.A DETAILD FIELD SURVEY WAS CARRIED OUT REGARDING LOCAL SCOUR AT THE SECTION OF HIRANO BRIDGE HAVING PERMIABLE SPUR DIKES IN AKASHI RIVER, PREPARATIONS FOR MEASURING STREAM CONDITIONS AND SCOUR DEPTH AT A FLOOD WERE MADE. 2.THE EXPERIMENTS WERE CARRIED OUT TO ESTABLISH A REASONABLE DESIGN OF THE PERMIABLE SPUR DIKES. BASED ON THESE RESULTS, 2-D NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS FOR LOCAL SCOUR AROUND PERMIABLE SPUR DIKES WERE PROPOSED AND APPLIED TO THE EXPERIMENTS. COMPARING THE NUMERICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS VERIFIED THE ABILITY OF THIS MODEL TO PREDICT THE SCOUR PROCESS. 3.FISHES' HABITAT ENVIRONMENTALS WERE EVALUATED BY FIELD OBSERVATIONS AND A PHYSICAL ENVIRONTAL SIMULATION MODEL ON THE AKASHI RIVER.
