Research Abstract |
Recently the number of pets hurt on floors by slipping is increasing rapidly because the rise in the number of owners who have pets in their house. This study examines the evaluation method of slipperiness for dogs, which are breaded by many people and easy to slip on floors. First, the experiments are carried out that get the dog on various floors, tilt the floor little by little and measure the easiness of slip from the angle when the dog slips down. Then it is proved that the order of slipperiness of floors doesn't so vary with kind or weight of dogs. Second, we settle the measuring method of slipperiness by improving the existing slip test instrument and making the sliding piece imitating the sole of dog's leg, and confirm that this method can measure the order of slipperiness of floors as stated above. In addition, we prove the range of slip resistance value which doesn't effect the movements of dogs. Then the evaluation method of slipperiness for pets is established.
