| Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to clarify the actual condition of water and energy consumption of the welfare facilities for the aged and to obtain the fundamental data for designing. Therefore, the measurements of hot and cold water consumption, energy consumption and indoor thermal environment were carried out in two facilities. Furthermore, focusing care bathing in the facility, the measurements of hot and cold water consumption and the observation survey of bathing behavior were conducted simultaneously, in varied bathtubs. The results are follows :
1) According to the measurements of energy consumption, we found the intermittent operation of ventilation system and the disuse of floor heating. These managements were judged by staffs for energy conservation. However, the possibility of indoor environment degradation was indicated.

inter, because they seldom use air conditioning system in their private rooms for economy.
3) Half of hot water consumption in the facility was used for bathrooms. However, the amount of hot water used with bathing behavior was much less than the amount used for filling up the bath tubs or overflowing. Also, heat quantity for keeping the temperature of hot water in a bathtub was more than the heat quantity for hot water supplied to bathrooms.
4) As concerns the hot water consumption per capita for bathing, the mechanical bathtub was more than other bathtubs, because in the bathing with the bathtub, we found the various behaviors, such as heating up stretchers, confirming the adequateness of hot water temperature, etc.
5) In the bathtubs with hot water circulation system for keeping the temperature, there was energy conservation possibility by change the schedule of bathing in a week. Therefore, six patterns of schedules were planned and the installation to the actual facility was simulated. Less
