Research Abstract

This project is purposed to establish the design method to prevent reverse flow at the smoke protect opening in pressurization.
The experiments were conducted by use of a test room with same size two rooms (W3000xD3000xH2200mm) in Kanazawa Institute of Technology. One room was regarded as supply air room, another room was regarded as non supply air room like a corridor. The smoke protect opening in supply air room was measured at 25 points by use of the 3-dimensional super sonic anemometer. The pyramidal paper object was set in front of the supply opening. The series of measurement were conducted by changing an oblique angle and a distance from the base of an object to the face of supply opening. The results of investigation were confirmed by use of computational fluid dynamics also. The experiment results were nearly similar to the simulation results.
The results are as the followings.
(1) It had better pointed the supply air jet at sidewall to form a uniform airflow distribution on the smoke protect opening.
(2) The reverse flow on smoke protect opening has a tendency to reduce with 100mm at the distance from supply opening to the base of object and the oblique angle 0 degree nearly like a plane.
(3) The size of supply opening had better equal to the obstacle size in front of the supply opening.
