Research Abstract

人々の興味が肉眼解剖から顕微解剖に移ることになり哺乳類の咀嚼筋の分類はそのままにされてきた。我々は哺乳類咀嚼筋をその支配神経を用いて分類を行って来た.咀嚼筋と歯牙の形態との関係を詳細に検討してみた。歯牙形態は特に頬歯の咬耗状態を中心に解析を進めようと考える。野生動物の年齢推定は以前から歯の咬耗状態を持って推定されてきた。カンガルーは頬歯が水平置換を起こし、前方より抜けていくためにこの方法はとられてこなかった。カンガルーはその代わりに頬歯の前方移動の度合い(Molar Index)によって年齢推定が行われてきた。今回残存歯の咬耗度と頬歯の前方移動の度合いとの相関関係についても検討した。野生動物の年齢推定は以前から歯の咬耗状態を持って推定されてきた。カンガルーは頬歯が水平置換を起こし、前方より抜けていくためにこの方法はとられてこなかった。カンガルーはその代わりに頬歯の前方移動の度合い(Molar Index)によって年齢推定が行われてきた。今回残存歯の咬耗度と頬歯の前方移動の度合いとの相関関係についても検討した咬筋と側頭筋の間に上顎下額筋を独立した筋として見つけた。また、この筋は支配神経より咬筋と側頭筋の中間の筋と考えた。
