Research Abstract

調和写像流はユークリッド空間に埋め込まれた多様体に像が含まれる(つまり束縛条件の)ディリクレエネルギーの臨界点として定義される。その様な写像をつくるために、このディリクレエネルギーの勾配案を考える。この解を調和写像流という。ディリクレエネルギーの代わりに全変動を考えたものを全変動流という。このモデルは画像処理で輪郭を保ちながらノイズを除去する上で、優れているため、しばしば用いられる。しかし、束縛条件がない場合であっても拡散が特定の面について非常に強い非局所的な要素を持つ特異拡散方程式であり、その方程式の解の定義も自明ではないため、解の性質等の解明が難しい。
本研究では全変動流方程式を近似する離散系である常微分方程式を提案し、ある程度の成功を収めた。今年度は問題の原点に戻り、束縛条件のない場合の全変動流について、数値実験を行い医療画像について十分効果がある事を確認した。普通のガウスフィルターに比べ、残るべき輪郭が明確になっているなど、全変動流を用いるメリットがこの場合にも再確認された。
一方、周期構造のような構造はこの種の空間について一様な方程式では保存されることがよく知られているが、概周期構造となるとよくわからなかった。この点を明らかにするため、流体力学の方程式など、様々な方程式について概周期構造が保たれる事を証明した。これらは計画を立てた時点では予定していなかったが、重要なトピックだと思われるので研究した。
