Research Abstract

固体表面に高い配向性を持つ機能性分子層を形成することは分子デバイス等、ナノテクノロジーにおける最重要課題の一つである。溶液プロセスで簡便に、配向性の高い単分子層を構築できる自己組織化法では、貴金属上(特に金)チオール系分子層やシリコン上のシリコンー炭素直接結合を介した分子層がよく研究されている。しかし、これら単分子層を次世代の超高機能分子デバイスとして利用するには、表面に存在する欠陥をなくし、また従来を上回る高い被覆率・配向性を実現することが不可欠である。さらに実用的には、分子層形成反応が短時間で完了することが望ましい。昨年度の研究成果を踏まえつつ、有機合成など反応が効率的に進行することが明らかになりつつあるマイクロ波合成を機能性分子層の形成に適用し、欠陥の極めて少ない超高密度な分子膜の作成を短時間で効率的に作成することを目的に、研究を行った。本年度は以下の成果を得た。
1.シリコンによるマイクロ波吸収と温度上昇機構の解明を目的に、ドーパントの種類(窒素ドープ(n型)あるいはホウ素ドープ(p型))や密度依存性について検討した。その結果、ドーパントの種類にはあまり依存しないが、密度には大きく依存することを明らかにした。
2.シリコン(111)単結晶表面上でのオクタデシル単分子層形成について全反射赤外分光法により詳紬に検討し、最適化を図った。具体的にはマイクロ波強度を上げる、オクタデゼンを加熱効果の高い高誘電率溶媒に希釈ずる等の条件を変え、分子層形成反応の反応時間短縮や欠陥の少ない超高密度膜を形成した。
