Research Abstract

申請者らは、急性腎不全の回復期に腎胎生期に発現する遺伝子、Wnt4およびEts1が尿細管細胞に再発現し、胎生期の幹細胞的な性格をもつ、増殖能が高い細胞が近位尿細管に発現することを世界に先駆けて見いだし、尿細管の『dedifferentiation』という概念を提唱した。この『dedifferentiation』という概念は世界的にも認められ、昨年のアメリカ腎臓学会誌の総説『急性腎不全の最新のメカニズム』(Devarajan P:Update on Mechanisms of Ischemic Acute Renal Injury, JASN,2007)にも申請者らの成績と概念が取り上げられており、独創的な考え方と認知されている。
平成19年度も下記に示すような論文発表をし、腎臓病の再生医学的アプローチに関して、多くの知見を発表した。
