Research Abstract

昨年度までに,液滴/基板界面の冷却過程を映像化したが,赤外カメラの低い時間分解能ゆえ急冷凝固において最も重要な初期接触時の挙動は明確になっていない.そこで,今年度は,サファイア基板を用い時間分解能150kHz及び空間分解能0.012mm/pixelの高速ビデオカメラにより接触初期に着目して実験を行った.496K過冷した液滴の基板接触直後中心部では,凝固潜熱の放出による輝度の上昇が観察され,時間と共に外側へと拡がっていった.0.1005msで明るいリングの内側に,液滴が基板に接触したときに巻き込まれた空気が黒いシミとして観察され,その後その領域を拡大していった.これは,巻き込まれた空気同士が結合することで,面積/体積比を小さくし界面エネルギーを小さくしているためであると考えられる.ガスの巻き込みを実験にて初めて可視化した今回の結果は,液滴中心部と基板界面での冷却機構が,液/固界面または固/固界面での伝熱だけでなぐ,気体を介した伝熱,輻射熱も考慮する必要があり,より複雑な冷却過程を経ていることを意味している.3年間のまとめとして,融液/基板界面では,熱伝達係数は基板に垂直方向の融液からの圧力に依存し,また空気の巻き込み等微視的に多くの要因を考慮する必要があることがわかった.
