Research Abstract

本研究は、パルス磁場によってスピン配列させた磁性薄膜における高分解能角度分解光電子分光測定により、電子とスピンの相互作用が磁性に果たす役割を、スピン配列による電子状態の変化を通じて直接的に観測する事を目的とする。
磁性薄膜における角度分解光電子分光測定をパルス磁場によってスピン配列した環境下で行うという本研究の目的を実現するために、平成19年度は、パルス磁場発生装置、磁化測定系の立ち上げ作業および分子線ビームエピタキシー(MBE)装置による高機能磁性薄膜の作成を行い、作成した磁性薄膜において角度分解光電子分光測定を行ってきた。以上の現状について詳細を以下に示す。
1. スピン配列した磁性薄膜におけるin situ磁化測定系の立ち上げ
磁性薄膜における磁気状態をスピン配列する前後で直接観測するために、パルス磁場発生装置、および磁化測定用カー光学系の試料準備槽への設置をすすめている。テスト測定および性能評価を経て、平成20年度夏頃に磁性薄膜における角度分解光電子分光をスピン配列した環境下で行う予定である。
2. 磁気的性質の異なる強磁性機能薄膜における系統的角度分解光電子分光研究
強磁性薄膜Eu0において強磁性転移温度(Tc〜70K)前後で放射光角度分解光電子分光測定を行った。その結果、Eu4f電子と伝導電子の間の混成強度が強磁性転移温度前後で急激に変化する明かになった。
今後スピン配列の条件が系統的に変化する系における角度分解光電子分光測定を行うために、ナノスピンエレクトロニクス材料として重要な巨大磁気抵抗を伴い強磁性相転移温度が急激に増大する、電子ドープ(Eu->Gd、Eu->La置換)したEu0単結晶磁性薄膜のMBE作製を現在すすめている。
