Research Abstract

本年度は去年に引き続き、マンガン(V,V)種の単離、および水中での触媒的酸化反応の構築について検討した。マンガン(V)種の単離については配位子として用いたポルフィリンのピロールベータ位をフッ素置換した配位子を合成し、その酸化生成物、ならびにその安定性について検討した。単核フッ素置換マンガン(III)ポルフィリンの結晶構造解析は通常のピロールを用いたポルフィリンに比べ平面から歪んでいることが判明した。しかしながら、この錯体はこれまでと同様、強塩基性条件下2等量のメタクロロ過安息香酸を用いた酸化することにより、安定なマンガン(V)種生成が確認された。この溶液を-20℃で放置することにより、マンガン(V)種を粉末として単離することに成功した。しかしながら、この粉末は室温において不安であり、徐々にマンガン(IV)種へと変化した。
一方、ポルフィリン二量体を用いた水の酸化についてはこれまで均一系触媒反応において、最大触媒回転数が9.5であったことから、ITO上にマンガンポルフィリン二量体を固定化し、それを電極として水中で電解することでその酸素発生について検討した。このマンガン(III)ポルフィリン二量体を固定化した電極を用いたサイクリックボルタンメトリー(CV)はpHに依存し、塩基性条件では顕著な水の酸化波と考えられる大きな酸化波を観測した。この酸化波はITOのみでも観測されたが、約100mV高電位側にシフトしており、マンガンが何らか水の酸化触媒として機能していることが考えられた。そこで各pHにおいて、電解酸化を試みたがマンガンポルフィリンが顕著に水の酸化触媒として機能している結果は得られなかった。
