Research Abstract

今年度は溶液内においてFe,Co,Ni,Pd,Pt,Rh遷移金属のナノ接合を電気化学STMを用いて作製した。その結果、水素発生条件のもとで超高真空、極低温と同様の量子化伝導を観測することに成功した。従来、室温ではこれら遷移金属の量子化伝導を測定した例は少なく、溶液内室温でナノ接合を安定化した意義は大きい。溶液内水素条件では擬似的に超高真空、極低温と同じような環境が実現したものと考えている。特にNi,Pdの場合は単原子ワイヤー形成を示唆する結果が得られた。金属の単原子ワイヤーはこれまでAu,Pt,Irなど一部の金属に限られ、遷移金属の単原子ナノワイヤー作製に成功した例はない。本研究の結果は、溶液内が新たなナノ構造形成の場となりうる事を示している。
また昨年度まで作製法を確立した金属ナノ接合を利用して単分子の伝導度計測も今年度は行った。現在、分子エレクトロニクスヘの応用から単分子の伝導特性が注目を集めている。しかし分子の存在、架橋状態が不明、分子と金属の接合部がAu-Sに限定など単分子の伝導特性の研究には課題が多い。今年度、超高真空、極低温において単分子の振動スペクトルと伝導度の同時計測の研究をおこなった。そしてPt電極に架橋した水素、ベンゼンについて架橋状態を規定して単分子の伝導度を決定することに成功した。また溶液内において新たなアンカー部位の探索を目指して単分子伝導計測を行った。電極金属としてよりフェルミ準位の状態密度が高いPt,Ni、末端部位としてNC,NH_2,COOHなどに注目して実験を行った。その結果、Au-CN,Pt-CN,Pt-Sなどの新規接続部位をもつ単分子伝導計測に成功し、特にPt-Sでは従来のAu-Sより1桁高い伝導特性を示すことを明らかにした。
