Research Abstract

(1)「発達期神経細胞におけるX線と炭素線の効果比」
胎児チャールズリバー・ラット(17日目)の脳より海馬ニューロン細胞、グリア細胞をマイクロ手術により摘出し、1週間(未熟神経細胞)共培養した正常脳神経細胞において、アポトーシスを指標としてX線および炭素線の効果を比較したところ、「炭素線の効果がX線の約6倍大きいであること(RBE=6)」、が明らかとなった。(第48回米国放射線治療学会で発表)
(2)「神経成長円錐の崩壊を指標とした未熟・成熟神経細胞の放射線感受性」
胎児ひよこから摘出した神経細胞を8日間(未熟)および16日間(成熟)培養した後、X線を照射し、照射後の神経成長円錐の崩壊および細胞死について検討したところ、時間及び線量依存的に神経成長円錐の崩壊が認められ、また、未熟神経細胞がより放射線感受性であることが明らかとなった。(日本腫瘍放射線学界にて優秀Poster賞受賞)
(3)「切片培養法を用いた小脳に対するX線および重粒子線の影響」
発達期のラット小脳スライス培養組織(P10)において、X線及び炭素線照射を行った後、小脳組織の形態を経時的に観察したところ、時間及び線量依存的に、小脳・外顆粒層の肥厚と顆粒細胞の凝縮が認められた。また、X線と炭素線で効果を比較したところ、炭素線の効果が同線量のX線の効果に比べ、約2〜2.5倍大きいことが明らかとなり、発達期のラット正常小脳組織における、炭素線のRelative Biological Effectiveness(RBE)は2〜2.5と考えられることが明らかとなった。(The Second International Symposium on Biomedical Research Using Accelerator Technologyにて最優秀Poster賞受賞)
