Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2019年の研究では、研究代表者と外国人特別研究員は、主に次の二つの研究成果を挙げた。まず、純粋化エンタングルメントと呼ばれる相関を測る量子情報で知られる量を自由スカラー場やイジング模型といった厳密に解ける模型において、大学院生のJahn氏と梅本氏と共同で、解析した。昨年度に行ったの自由スカラー場に対する同様の研究と比べてより大きな部分系のサイズをとることができるように数値計算法を改良した。その結果、純粋化エンタングルメントの部分系間の距離の関数としての振る舞いで、前年度の研究で見出されていたプラトーが実は距離が格子点一つの時のみ現れ、連続極限では消失することが分かった。さらにその振る舞いを定性的に説明することに成功した。またイジング模型の解析で、量子相転移付近で、純粋化エンタングルメントの対称性が自発的に破れるという興味深い現象も明らかになった。

もう一つの研究成果は、二次元共形場理論の経路積分の手法を駆使して、局所的励起状態を混合状態として構成し、そのエンタングルメント・エントロピーの時間発展を計算したことである。ゲージ重力対応が適用できるようなカオス的な共形場理論では、この混合状態のエンタングルメント・エントロピーは純粋状態の局所励起状態のエンタングルメント・エントロピーと一致することを見出した。一方、自由場共形場理論では、両者が大きく異なることを見出した。いままで純粋状態に対してのみ局所励起状態が考えられ
てきたが、その場合にエンタングルメント・エントロピーなどの量は、励起を与える演算子に詳細に一般には大きく依存し、普遍的な結果が得られなかった。しかし混合状態の局所励起状態では、共形場理論を決めると普遍的なエンタングルメント・エントロピーが得られ、共形場理論の分類を行うことができることが分かった。
