Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は二酸化炭素が円筒,円錐、ラバールノズルなどのような多様な形状の多孔質材料内に溜まることによって,変形する細孔が吸着現象の全般に与える影響を解明し,それをもとに理想的な吸着材を設計することである.現在の科学技術では高分子やイオン材料などを用いて孔隙の性質および長さと太さなどを設計することが可能だが,材料のパラメータの相関関係が複雑なため理想的な回収効率はいまだに不明である.既存の二酸化炭素回収物質の研究は試行錯誤と実験結果の解析からのトップ・ダウン型が大半であったことに比べ,本研究は分子レベルで二酸化炭素の吸着を向上させる因子を先に調べ,それと細孔が変形することをもとに吸着メカニズムを解明および理想的な細孔を設計するボトム・アップ型である.
本研究でははじめに剛直な多孔質材料をモデル化して、二酸化炭素と水の吸着について分子シミュレーションを行った.実際の二酸化炭素の吸着は湿度の高い雰囲気下で行われることが多く,水蒸気の影響を明らかにすることは重要である.はじめに円筒状のモデル細孔について,細孔表面の親水性に空間的な分布を与え,細孔内部の水の吸着・移動について,分子シミュレーションを行った.この研究では親水性の空間分布に僅かな違いがあるだけで,吸着等温線,吸着緩和曲線が大きく異なることを指摘した.さらに金属有機構造体の一つであるMIL-101を対象として分子シミュレーションを行った.この研究では吸着等温線について実験結果と比較検討を行い,ポテンシャル関数の特徴を明らかにした後,非平衡の分子動力学の計算により二酸化炭素,水,二酸化炭素と水の混合系について細孔内外の移動特性を評価した.MIL-101は剛直な金属有機構造体であるが,柔軟な金属有機構造体についても検討した.柔軟な材料に対する適切な計算アルゴリズムの提案は今後の課題である.
