| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This year, two research report presentations (on April 26, 2019 and on June 28, 2019 with 6 speakers) and two workshops (on September 26, 2019 and on November 10, 2019 with 11 participants) have been held. I spent the second half of the year writing and editing the report.
As a summary of research results, the report “Research on generation of modern Japan through clothing --- HAIKARA style and elegance” was published on March 1, 2020, in which the papers of seven researchers were introduced. It’s impossible to cover the wide variety of clothing (including clothes and hairstyles) in Modern Japan, which corresponds mainly to the Meiji era and widely ranges to the Showa era. However, each of discussions is completely original and unique at least.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
2017年度と2018年度に続いて、花柳界文化に関する研修会を実施した。これに関する直接的な成果は研究協力者である田中圭子と小川知子による論文および著書であるが、その他のすべての分担者と協力者にとっても、近代日本の芸術・文芸に頻出するにもかかわらず、その現場を見たこともない花柳界を体験することは、不要不急である基礎研究という営みにおいて実に貴重であった。
また、互いの専門が少しずつ違う研究者が一堂に会する研究発表会の場は、言うまでもなく互いを補い合う非常に有効なものであった。服飾メジャーではない美術・歴史等の分野では当閑に付されてきた服飾を考えることで見えてきた諸相を今後も考察したい。
