Outline of Annual Research Achievements

新型コロナウイルス禍かつ入出国制限、またミャンマーでは国家非常事態宣言がある中で、コロナ禍前と同等の活動は大きく制限された。その中でも、これまで調査してきたデータをもとに、追加調査を行いながら、研究成果をまとめてきた。
(1) 研究代表者・林は2022年8月にタイ・ナコンパノム県でセーク語の補充調査を進めた。実に2年8ヶ月ぶりの調査再開となったが、この間に協力者の逝去などもあり、今後の研究方法にも変更が必要な状況となった。その後、2023年2月に同地での再調査を行うとともに、ラオス・ビエンチャン市内で、ラオス国立大学ラオス言語センター所長および現地在住の米国人研究者James Chamberlain氏との研究情報の交換並びに言語調査計画の打ち合わせも進めることができた。研究分担者・加藤はミャンマー入国制限もあり、現地調査はできなかったが、関東地方において在日カレン人を協力者として、カレン語の文法調査を進めることができた。
(2) 研究代表者・林、および研究分担者・加藤、研究分担者・田口ともに2022年9月に京都で行われた第55回国際シナ・チベット言語学会議に参加し、各人の研究成果を発表することができた。またJames Chamberlain氏および海外の協力者であるNathan Badenoch氏とともに本研究課題の論集としては3冊目となるTopics in Middle Mekong Linguistics 3を神戸市外国語大学研究年報の一巻として発刊することができた。研究分担者・加藤は所属する慶應義塾大学言語文化研究所の論集として『東南アジア大陸部諸言語の事象キャンセル』を発刊し、文法研究の東南アジア的特徴の解明に貢献した。

Current Status of Research Progress

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

実質的には自己評価としては難しい部分も多い。というのも、研究開始当初では考えられなかった3年間の新型コロナウイルス禍にまみれ、現地調査の計画は大きく変更を余儀なくされたからである。2022年度についても同様で、入出国の制限は年度後半にかかるところまで起きた上に、中国やミャンマーでの調査はできなかった。
他方、これまでの研究成果を神戸市外国語大学の研究年報でまとめることもできた上、2022年9月にはメンバー全員が国際シナ・チベット言語学会議で研究発表も行えた。
また研究代表者・林は2022年8月および2023年2月にタイ東北部にてセーク語の調査を進めた。研究分担者・加藤は関東地方在住のカレン語話者の調査を進めることができた。
以上、制約が強くありながらも、可能な範囲の方法を最大限に活かして、研究活動を進められたので、ある意味では順調に進められてと言って良いと考えられる。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2023年度は前年度できなかった中国・ミャンマー等の調査が可能であれば進める。現地の状況などで調査活動が難しい場合は、言語および国を変更して、現地調査を行う。同時に国際会議を中心に研究成果の公開を行い、本研究課題の締めくくりを行いたい。
