Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The wider use of environmental catalysts in future industrially energy-related field will bring the requirement of essentially reducing the noble metals contents towards saving resources and lowering cost of catalyst. Especially, it is useful for small engines in hybrid cars and the system using general purpose engines such as farm engine, motorcycles and satellite electric resource etc. For this, we examined a newly developed core-shell type support in CeO2-ZrO2 system as a sub-catalyst for low content noble metal doped catalyst. It is found that the core-shell structured CeO2/ZrO2 leads to better activity even for as low content as 0.1 wt.% metal catalyst than previous general CeO2 and CeO2-ZrO2.
