Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A novel spray simulation code has been developed, which includes a turbulent atomization model based on the ISS experiments on the role of capillary waves. This code enables highly accurate spray simulations within reasonable resources. The spray formation mechanisms have been clarified and the spray code has been modified to be used in industrial applications. The code can simulate cold and reacting sprays, and its high predictability has been achieved for the first time in this field. This study is highly recognized in the community and the 2019 paper award was given by the Combustion Society of Japan.
