Outline of Final Research Achievements

In the present project, we will develop drug delivery system and immunomodulating peptides that bind to specific DC subsets to induce either immune activation or immunotolerance. In addition, we will identify potential applications of these systems in therapeutic strategies for infectious diseases and immune-associated diseases.

本研究で見出された成果は、新型コロナウイルスを含めた、様々な感染症に対するワクチン開発における基盤技術・情報になり得るものである。また、花粉症を初めとするアレルギー疾患に対する新規治療薬の開発に向けた貴重な情報を提供するものと期待される。さらに、ワクチンや治療薬の開発のみならず、薬物送達学や医療薬学における基礎研究の進展にも貢献し得るものであり、社会的意義も高いと考えられる。
