Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Under the limitations both in financial resources and service provision, introducing ICT is mandatory in providing effective and efficient health-care support. According to the algorisms of self-care plans we developed, mobile applications (apps) interactively challenge to enhance self-management skills of patients with asthma, chronic heart failure, and colorectal cancer by encouraging them to conduct self-monitoring and by providing daily educational segments and motion pictures. Apps will give action plans when they have exacerbations or SSI (surgical site infection). In the feasibility study of asthma app, the high score of the usability, 88% of the maximum, was obtained. A app for preventing SSI after the surgery was developed as a joint research with the University of Nottingham. In the feasibility study in UK, the high MARS score was shown. The mobile Health apps, especially equipped with rule-based AI, may have a huge potential for boosting health-care support.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
