This study investigates the current situation of the Manchu language and culture inheritance in Northeast China. It demonstrates that the spoken Manchu language in China is full of variation caused by strong influences from Mandarin Chinese. In protecting the endangered language and promoting language inheritance, we compiled a simplified Manchu language textbook and organized Manchu dialogue and story-telling competitions, which served the local community for their continuous learning of the Manchu language.
