Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we have developed practical asymmetric synthetic methods for chiral silicon molecules having asymmetric silicon atom to open up new chiral technology based on their unique properties. As the results, we have achieved asymmetric synthesis of chiral silacycles, e.g. chiral silacyclopentanes, chiral silaoxane with newly developed asymmetric reactions, and found that some of the derivatives show substantial bioactivity.

本研究では,多様かつ高度に官能基化されたキラルケイ素分子が合成可能であり,それらに生物活性などの有用な機能が発現することを明らかにした.これらの成果は,医薬品開発や機能性分子開発において限定されてきた「構成元素」を拡張することで,合成可能な分子群が飛躍的に展開されることを示し,今後,有機合成化学を基盤とする多くの研究領域に大きな波及効果をもたらすことが期待される.
