Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) has been suggested to have a novel role in the brain, apart from its classical role of regulating the blood pressure. We demonstrated that (pro)renin receptor (PRR) gene polymorphism +1513A>G (rs6609080) contributes to human basal ganglia gray matter volume and fluid intelligence in women. Our result implies the developmental and biological importance of RAAS in brain function.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
